Practitioners are being invited to 'test drive' the latest in ophthalmic instrumentation next month at a series of two-day roadshow events featuring a number of equipment suppliers.
Instrument Showcase 2006 is similar to a series of exhibitions held two years ago during a non-Optrafair year, but this time the event will be held solely at English sports grounds. Lord's Cricket Ground and Premier League Aston Villa FC are among the venues.
Many of the same suppliers return this year - although the event has increased by a third to 20 exhibitors - including practice management IT systems and spectacle display systems.
Billed as 'the only all-equipment show', there will be special offers at each of the four venues, free entry, refreshments and long opening hours, with seven hours devoted to the Sundays of the show, and 10 hours on Mondays.
The participating companies are: Carleton, Cerium Optical, De-Pict, Essilor, Financial Professional Services, Grafton Optical, Haag-Streit UK, Keeler, Mainline Optical, MIP Design, No 7 Contact Lenses, Ocuco, PCS Cheltenham, Relcon, Sight Care, Store Graphics, Style Design, Veni Vidi, Weco, Zeiss.
Instrument Showcase 2006 will be held at Bristol City FC (February 5-6), Leeds United FC (February 12-13), Lord's Cricket Ground, St John's Wood, London (February 19-20) and Aston Villa FC (February 26-27).
