Harpenden-based dispensing optician (DO), Sen Gurung, recently completed an eye camp in Lamjung, Nepal, providing eye care to hundreds of patients.
The SeeNepal Foundation, pioneered by Gurung and the SeeNepal team, aimed to support communities with little to no access to basic eye care.
Over the course of three days, Gurung and the team saw 650 patients and dispensed over 390 pairs of spectacles.
Gurung, DO and director at Skye Optometrists, commented: ‘It’s always an amazing experience to be able to provide eye care to those who otherwise wouldn’t be able to access it. Quite often, the care that they receive can be life changing.’
