Persol has launched a special edition of its famous PO714 model dedicated to Steve McQueen, who wore the sunglass in the 1968 film The Thomas Crown Affair.
The limited edition model will be available in 300 pieces in the UK and features the return of the blue lens as worn by the Hollywood star, as well as his signature in the inner side and on the soft leather case.
The foldable sunglass also features the Persol Supreme Arrow on the side hinges.
Persol is using three photos by William Claxton from 1962 in its 2011 advertising material, including this shot of McQueen driving his Jaguar XKSS on Mulholland Drive, Los Angeles.
