Boots Opticians parent company Walgreens Boots Alliance has named Stefano Pessina as its CEO.
Pessina, who led Alliance Boots prior to its merger with Walgreens and had been serving as acting CEO since January, will continue reporting to executive chairman James Skinner.
‘In Walgreens Boots Alliance’s initial six months as a newly combined company, Stefano has done an extraordinary job leading the new enterprise, focusing our strategy while enhancing our financial performance,’ said Skinner.
The group increased its Q3 earnings per share by nearly a quarter to as Boots retail sales including optical increased 3.2 per cent.
A breakdown of optical sales was not disclosed.
