Student DO erased

A student dispensing optician has been erased from GOC registers after a fitness to practise committee found him guilty of misconduct.

The committee alleged that Zohaib Dada, who had been undertaking training at Vision Express Hampstead, forged signatures of his supervisor on his tracking sheets and his pre-qualification period final declaration and opened a letter from ABDO - when he knew he was not the intended recipient - which was said to question the authenticity of his records.

Dada confessed his actions to his supervisor and a disciplinary hearing followed. In addition, it was alleged that Dada put pressure on his supervisor to sign inaccurate records.
