Students to the first-ever Association of Optometrists' optometry student conference were told that optometry is an 'ever-changing landscape' and there is 'an on-going evolution' in the profession.
This was the message from AOP chairman Michael Charlton, who gave the welcome speech at the two-day event, held at the Butlins resort in Skegness, Lincolnshire from November 1-2.
More then 100 students from universities around the country took the opportunity to get some important career advice, network with fellow undergraduates, meet employers and other exhibitors, such as instrument company Keeler, and charities including Vision Aid Overseas.
During his talk on focusing on life after university, optometrist Ed Bickerstaffe outlined the various career paths available to students.
