A dedicated Fight for Sight supporter has raised £323 for the charity by holding a coffee morning. Charles Medhurst, 82, has been a supporter since 1965 when his mother attended Moorfields Eye Hospital for treatment and he has since run seven marathons for the charity.
He said: 'I was baking for several weeks and sold cakes and coffee as well as various other bits and pieces I no longer needed.' Director of fundraising Annu Mayor said: 'Fight for Sight is very proud of and grateful to Charles - he is loyal and unwavering in his support of the charity.'
The charity is also looking for runners to take part in the Asics British 10k London Run on July 1. Entry costs £25 and Fight for Sight hopes runners will pledge to raise at least £150 for the charity.
