Luxottica Group bolstered its sales and net income during the second quarter of 2015 – including double-digit sales growth for Sunglass Hut in Europe.
European sales increased by 9.1 per cent, with strong contributions from the German, UK, Nordic and Eastern wholesale markets noted.
During a presentation for the second quarter period the group stated that e-commerce sales were up by 57 per cent.
Luxottica’s total net sales for the first half of the year reached €4.7bn, compared to €3.9bn during the first half of 2014. The group’s net income rose by a quarter to reach €295m.
Adil Khan and Massimo Vian, chief executive officers of Luxottica, said in a joint statement that sales in emerging markets went up a fifth.
