A majority of the UK population opt for spectacles to impress at important meetings but most avoid wearing them for social media pictures.
New research commissioned by multiple Vision Express showed 60% wear glasses for important work meetings and over half for a job interview.
Forty-nine per cent chose to wear them on a romantic break or when on a date, but a third took off their spectacles altogether on social media.
The poll of 2,000 adults also showed that 43% found buying glasses too expensive and more than a third admitted they find choosing the perfect pair stressful.
Vision Express CEO Jonathan Lawson said: ‘The eye health of our customers is our absolute priority and with more than a third of people putting off getting new glasses, it’s even more important for us to show people that buying frames which suit them can be a fun, cost effective and a stress free experience.’
