Sustainable container receives award

A reusable delivery container developed by an optical chain has received an award

A reusable delivery container developed by German optical practice chain Apollo has received a pro-K Award in recognition of its ability to reduce cardboard waste and CO2 emissions.

Reusable plastics specialist Schoeller Allibert collaborated with Apollo to modify its existing Clever Move Box to better serve optical deliveries. The revised container folds down to only 52mm in height and can then be clipped onto a box still being used in its expanded form. This allows for the easy return of the containers for reuse in the future,

With over 1000 branches, Apollo estimates that the container will save hundreds of tonnes of cardboard waste while cutting CO2 emissions by 96%. Additionally, the containers are 100% recyclable at the end of their service life.
