
100% Optical has highlighted key independent eyewear players featuring sustainable designs at its three-day show next month.
Independent eyewear designers are focusing on trending themes around sustainable innovation and environmentally friendly materials, according to 100% Optical. There will be live catwalks three times a day to showcase brands, as well as a Design Arcade, Dispensing Workshop and Future Practice Hub.
Some examples include David Green’s natural, cotton-based acetate eyewear which incorporates dried, dyed fallen tree leaves; Coti Vision’s Eden collection made from Italian Hexetate, an eco-friendly patented acrylic; and Waterhaul’s eyewear using frame materials sourced from 100% recycled monofilament nylon fishing nets, from Cornwall.
