Thélios has partnered with acetate manufacturer Mazzuccheli 1849 and speciality materials company Eastman to achieve more sustainability in the eyewear industry.
The companies said they have jointly worked on the release of acetate eyewear that would be significantly more sustainable than the current offering.
Giovanni Orsi Mazzucchelli, chair of Mazzucchelli 1849, said: ‘This project is part of a sustainability path that Mazzucchelli has been pursuing for several years. We believe in sustainability and we are proud to be part of this virtuous cycle together with Eastman and Thélios.’
A series of eco-responsible formulas, using certified recycled content and bio-sourced materials, have been explored by the companies with a launch planned by Thélios in 2022.
