Symposium for professor Robert Fletcher

A one-day symposium marking emeritus professor Robert Fletcher‘s 90th birthday and 74 year association with City University London will take place on Monday June 22 at Birley Lecture Theatre and Convocation Suite, City University London.

A number of speakers will give presentations on Professor Fletchers contribution to optometry, contact lens research and education – both in the UK and mainland Europe. During the lunch interval, an exhibition showing current instruments and textbooks written by Professor Fletcher will take place. A selection of Fletchers pioneering early scleral lenses will also be on display. The day will conclude with a screening of a film taken by Professor Fletcher of students at work in an optometry department.
