celtic trailAn optometrist has committed to a charity tandem cycle journal along the southern coast of Wales.

Carolyn Parker, founder of Penkridge-based Carolyn Parker Opticians, and her husband Iain Lucas will take on the Celtic Trail together on August 1 to raise funds for Vision Aid Overseas.

The three day, 225 mile trail started in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire and finished in Chepstow, Monmouthshire.

Parker said: ‘It’s a pretty mammoth task ahead of us but we’re very much relishing the prospect of cycling across the beautiful Welsh countryside. Vision Aid Overseas does phenomenal work helping to provide African nations with vital access to eye care and every single donation we receive makes us more and more determined to complete the trail, come rain or shine.’
