TD Tom Davies has released a special 10-piece collection of ophthalmic frames and sunglasses to celebrate the company's 10th anniversary. The designs have been picked from the archives by Tom Davies and represent what he felt were landmarks or achievements in the company's history.
It is apt that the first model from the new collection is a redesign of TD Tom Davies' first ever frame (1). Davies created five of the frames for a London practice. 'At the time everything was Prada and D&G, so I wanted to see if I could sell frames without any branding,' said Davies at Opti '12 in Munich. The frames sold within the first nine days, and the TD Tom Davies brand was launched. The frame's design has been tweaked slightly and now uses the company's Double Bloc titanium production method.
