Teenage patient Leah Fraser has returned to thank the optometrist who discovered symptoms of her brain tumour.
She was referred by Amit Patel (also pictured) of Specsavers Epsom to St George’s Hospital, Tooting, where scans showed a tumour in the centre of her brain was causing a build-up of pressure behind the eyes. An operation was performed to drain the fluid.
The teenager’s father, Justin Fraser, said: ‘We had already visited the GP and local hospital about Leah’s headaches but they put them down to a virus or migraines. It was thanks to Amit at Specsavers that we got to the hospital just in time.’
