Last month's Optometry Tomorrow conference was hailed as a great success by its organiser, the College of Optometrists.

Held in Manchester, the event attracted 250 delegates who could attend 17 lectures and interactive workshops, and could earn up to 13.5 CET points via the programme. A further two points were available by completing a poster presentation questionnaire, which included research findings from seven College funded postgraduate researchers.

College president David Cartwright said: 'We are delighted with the number of delegates attending this year's conference - almost double those who attended Optometry Tomorrow 2004.'

A special Jubilee Lecture - celebrating the College's 25th anniversary - was given by Professor John Marshall, Frost Professor of Ophthalmology at London's St Thomas's Hospital.
