Thieves stole almost £8,000 of stock including Ray-Ban, Cartier and Prada designer sunglasses from a practice in north London last Friday.
David Devan Opticians in Whetstone was broken into at around 2am. The raiders smashed the rear doors to gain access, according to a report in the Barnet & Potters Bar Times.
The newspaper also reported that two people had been charged in connection with the crime.
David Devan Opticians is the latest practice in the area to be targeted by burglars in recent weeks. Others have included a Vision Express store in Barnet, which was raided on June 24, when thieves made off with a large quantity of stock. A nearby branch of Specsavers in North Finchley, was also broken into on July 19. Thieves only managed to take a quantity of contact lens solutions, the newspaper reported.
