Time to log on to new look Optician Awards

Optician Awards

Optician readers are being encouraged to use the Christmas period to get in their entries for the 2012 Optician Awards.

There are 16 categories open for entry including three completely new trophies.

The Education Award, sponsored by The Vision Care Institute, will reward an individual or group that has used education to benefit patients and the profession. The Sunglass of the Year Award will seek to find an iconic sunglass for 2011. This may be a fashion, technical or individual piece and companies are invited to put forward their products, while practitioners may nominate products they feel deserve recognition. Also new is the Vision For Life Award, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. This award will be presented to a practice or individual that demonstrates commitment to eye care throughout patients' lives.

The Optician Awards also has a new look this year with a smart new Art Deco logo and stunning trophies commissioned by Optician for the award winners. The trophies will be presented at a glittering black tie dinner at London's Hilton Hotel in Park Lane on Saturday April 14 next year. Over 500 guests are expected to attend the event which will feature a reception, top class dinner, entertainment, an A-list celebrity and other entertainment.
