It’s not every day that you get to meet the designer who creates the frames you sell. This, however, was the case for Ruth Kettel who was lucky enough to meet award-winning designer Tom Davies of TD Tom Davies.
Kettel, a dispensing optician at Hereford-based BBR Optometry, met the manufacturer of bespoke eyewear at his newly opened London factory.
‘It was a very special day as we were just a handful of opticians who were given a rare chance to spend a day with Tom at his new premises in London,’ said Kettel.
BRR Optometry is one of a select group of optometrists that sell custom-made frames by Davies, who is recognised as a world leader in eyewear design.
‘We were able to see the whole process,’ said Kettel. ‘It provided us all with an insight into just how each spectacle frame is tailored individually to the customer.’
