Tools launched to prevent falls from VI

The College of Optometrists has collaborated with the National Falls Prevention Coordination Group (NFPCG) to create resources aimed at reducing falls potentially caused by vision-impairment in older people.

The College said that the objective is to promote the importance of good eye health and vision with healthcare professionals and increase the uptake of eye examinations by the public.

Led by the NHS England and NHS Improvement government body, the NFPCG is made up of a group of 40 organisations which prevent and care for patients of falls and fall-related injuries.
