Exhibitors from across the optical sector have heralded last weekend’s Optrafair event as record breaking.
Latest innovations in fashion frames, lenses, equipment, contact lenses and equipment were on show at the Birmingham NEC from April 18-20.
A full CET and speaker programme ran alongside the exhibition, where a Question Time panel on the future of retail optics attracted a crowd of onlookers, and tackled the co-existence of expanding multiples and independent optical practices on the high street.
‘I thought the audience had good grace to accept [the session] as it was intended. I think it was a good thing and something we could possibly do on an annual basis,’ panellist and Specsavers co-founder Doug Perkins told Optician afterwards.
