In celebration of the Tour de France visiting England last weekend, Oakley and Getty Images Gallery in London have staged an exhibition of historic photographs and rare athletic memorabilia from their archives.
'From a boy standing by his bike in Basra through to Lance Armstrong fighting through the pain barrier, Tour du Monde is a journey of extreme emotions and experiences, a retrospective of cultural images from the 19th and 20th centuries through to award-winning sports reportage,' said the organisers.
Original eyewear from Oakley worn by riders from Andy Hampsten to Lance Armstrong (pictured) and George Hincapie is displayed, dating from 1983 to the present day, along with the Special Edition Oakley 'LiveStrong' frame. Alongside Armstrong's Oakley M-Frame sunglass is the yellow jersey he wore during the first of his seven consecutive Tour victories in 1999.
Entrance to the exhibition is free and it runs until July 28 at the Getty Images Gallery, 46 Eastcastle Street, London W1.
