A study from Iran, published in this month's Ophthalmology, has shown that the intravitreal treatment was both more convenient and had much less risk of side effects than systemic drug use.

Toxoplasmosis is the most significant cause of chorioretinitis (posterior uveitis) and can cause significant vision loss.
