TPT extends jobseekers scheme

It has set up across Yorkshire and Humber, Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire

A Thomas Pocklington Trust (TPT) initiative to support blind and partially sighted people find employment has been extended to Yorkshire and Humber, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

The Works For Me scheme supported jobseekers by developing skills and offering advice about transitioning to the workplace, as well as helping them navigate the job market.

Charles Colquhoun, chief executive at TPT, said: ‘We know securing employment is one of the key concerns for blind and partially sighted people. We want to break down these barriers for people. Geographically expanding this programme will benefit more blind and partially sighted people across the country. We will use this as a testbed for future expansion, working towards our vision of a society where blind and partially sighted people can participate fully.’
