Training dates announced

A year since establishing her own professional training company, Jane Macnaughton, optometrist and City University lecturer, has announced new conferences for 2006.

Clearview Training, whose founding was first reported last spring (News, May 20), will host two main events this year, both at the Burleigh Court Conference centre, Loughborough.

There will be a one-day conference, 'Spring into summer' on May 7 and a 'Paediatrics day' for optometrists on October 29.

At the May conference Aston University's Dr Colin Fowler will discuss eye protection for sun and sport, and David Bennett will discuss summer contact lens innovations. Keynote speaker, local consultant ophthalmologist Raghavan Sampath, will lecture on eyelid, orbital and lacrimal disease.
