Training for whom, exactly?

Extract from cet for doctors: 'As L-DOPA is converted to dopamine by an enzyme (aromatic L-amino acid decarboxilase; AADC) which is also present in peripheral body tissues, L- DOPA administered orally is severely depleted before reaching its targets in the brain. It is therefore usually given with carbidopa (Sinemet; co-beneldopa) benserazide (Madopa; co-beneldopa), which block AADC but do not cross the blood brain barrier. Effective relief of the symptoms of PD can therefore be achieved at lower levels of L-DOPA and many of the unwanted side-effects such as nausea and vomiting are reduced.' Printer's error : We apologise for the incorrect heading to the above paragraph. It should read: 'Extract from CET for optometrists'. Is it just me that thinks that CET for optometrists is going into orbit, or is it just that the powers that be, College etc cannot find much to include in CET, without our training to be doctors? Maybe CET should be aimed at retraining us to use the Maddox Groove or a refresher course in the use of the ophthalmoscope? Is there anyone out there with similar views?
