Restructuring of Transitions Optical’s global commercial teams has begun after the company was fully taken over by Essilor International earlier this month.
A spokesperson for the company told Optician it could not confirm how many jobs were being affected either in the UK or globally.
Essilor agreed to acquire PPG Industries’ 51 per cent ownership stake in Transitions Optical last summer in a deal worth $1.73bn, having already owned 49 per cent of the photochromic lens firm.
‘Immediately after the deal we started restructuring the commercial organisation globally,’ the spokesperson said. ‘It is a different focus on the way we worked before.’
