Trust fails to check patient

Hospitals

A 96-year-old glaucoma patient has gone two and a half years without a hospital eye appointment.

Barbara Lucas had 11 check-ups cancelled or re-arranged by Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley, West Midlands, reported BBC News.

‘We can only apologise to Mrs Lucas for the number of times she has had her appointments rearranged. This is not the type of service we wish to provide to our patients and we acknowledge that this is not good enough,’ said a spokesperson for The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.
