Changes at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care will see the creation of two new positions focused on global education taken up by British optometrists.
The contact lens company has appointed Ian Davies to establish a new global professional education function, while Dr Kamlesh Chauhan will expand his remit to director of the Europe, Middle East and African region for The Vision Care Institute (TVCI).
The mission for Davies, vice president of TVCI since 2006, will be to develop educational programmes around the world, the company said, including a network of educational facilities and online activities.
He has previously managed the development of five institutes across the region, while Dr Chauhan joined Johnson & Johnson Vision Care in 2009 to establish TVCI in the UK.
