Hakim Group-owned Urquhart Opticians has acquired the Ayrshire-based Yullis of Lanark following the retirement of Derick Doris, who owned the practice for 20 years.
A report in The Herald said the expansion was part of a strategy targeting market towns on the west coast of Scotland.
Urquhart Opticians business development executive Yvette Brown told the paper: ‘We’re excited to be expanding in Lanark and looking forward to getting to know the patients and becoming part of the community.’
The Scottish group, which has 11 practices in the south-west of the country, was acquired by the Hakim Group in June this year.
