Patients 'applied sun cream to their eyes in order to watch the eclipse'

A local NBC television station in Columbus, Ohio, USA has reported patients attending hosiptal after putting sun cream in their eyes in order to watch the recent solar eclispe.

WCMH TV Columbus reported that while no patients had reported damage from watching the eclipse some had been seen from problems caused after putting sun cream on their eyes.

Nurse practitioner, Trish Patterson said: ‘One of my colleagues at moonlight here stated yesterday that they had patients presenting at their clinic that put sunscreen on their eyeball, and presented that they were having pain and they were referred to an ophthalmologist.’
