American web company RetroSpecs and Co has responded to claims that it is suing British practitioner Robert Roope for trading under a website by the same name (News, 03.09.10).

The company confirmed that it has filed a United States Federal lawsuit against Roope, a UK eyewear seller for use of the trade name RetroSpecs in the US market.

It stated: 'The two companies have entered into detailed negotiations to resolve their differences. Based on these talks, RetroSpecs & Co is hopeful that their allegations of confusion, both here in the United States and in many countries elsewhere in the world where RetroSpecs & Co has the legal right to the name, will be resolved amicably.'
