keeler vantageKeeler’s compact Vantage Plus indirect ophthalmoscope uses an optical system which automatically changes both the optics and mirrors when the aperture is adjusted.

When the user selects a small, medium or large aperture, the optics automatically adjust, providing three-dimensional stereoscopic views of the retina through all pupil sizes, said the company.
The device has high contrast optics with bright Xenon illumination for sharper glare-free views of the retina, which uses less power than previous versions, bulbs last longer and battery life is doubled to over 240 minutes of continuous use, said the company.

A patented ‘hi-mag’ lens slides on and off when required and provides an additional 1.6X magnification plus teaching mirror for observers to view the retina at the same time.

The Vantage Plus is also ‘15 per cent lighter and 20 per cent smaller’ than existing Vantage indirect ophthalmoscopes and has a cushioned, adjustable headband.
