VAO funds CPD tool for Zambian graduates

Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) has supported optometry graduates in Zambia by funding a new online CPD learning portal.

The interactive learning system, supplied by online medical education provider Synapse, was for graduates completing a three-year diploma in optometry technology at Chainama College of Health Sciences in Lusaka.

It would enable the graduates to keep their knowledge and skills up to date and achieve points towards a postgraduate certificate, a VAO statement added.

Nina Kriel of Kriel Optometrists in South Africa and Synapse Zambia Co-ordinator, said: ‘We have been providing online continuing education in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe for around five years but Synapse is new to Zambia.
