Colchester optometrist Louise Stanton was one of a team of seven volunteers joining the latest Vision Aid Overseas project to Luapula Province, Zambia.
The team saw nearly 1,000 patients over the two-week project and trained local nurses in refraction at the provincial capital Mansa.
Stanton is pictured examining the eyes of Chief Mabumba, tribal chief of the village of Mabumba in Mansa District, watched by his bodyguard.
