Louis Stone Optical’s frame division has donated 10 Perkins tonometers to charity Vision Aid Overseas (VAO).
The hand-held tonometers were packed for despatch by VAO vision centre supply manager Giulio Venturi (pictured) and were then sent to its vision centres in Zambia.
The tonometers were fully repaired, serviced and calibrated free of charge by the Haag Streit UK service department. The charity said the instruments were not usually a part of the initial optometry kits that its trainees were supplied with, so the donation would allow staff to perform accurate tonometry, adding a new dimension to its service.
