Temple Street Children’s University Hospital in Dublin has received a €15,000 boost from the fundraising efforts of Vision Express staff over the last 12 months in Ireland.

The donation was made to the hospital’s ophthalmology clinic, which treats 14,000 children each year for conditions including retinoblastoma and cataracts.

Nationwide fundraising efforts included donation-only frame repairs, tackling the Athlone half marathon and women’s mini marathons in Dublin and Cork, and holding a sell-out comedy night in Dublin.

A public treadmill challenge at the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in Dublin raised €1,300 in one day, the company added.
