Voting opens for AOP Council elections

Voting is open for the Association of Optometrists (AOP) Council elections in four geographical locations until April 23, with new members to be announced in May and welcomed at their first Council meeting in June.

AOP chairman Emma Spofforth said: ‘Becoming an AOP councillor is an incredibly rewarding role which offers the opportunity to use your knowledge, and on the ground experience, to shape the AOP’s policy making and help drive progress within the optometry profession, while also further building your own skills, among peers.’

Council elections were taking place in the following constituencies:

Adam Sampson, AOP chief executive, added: ‘Our councillors are a vital part of our work to protect our members’ interests and build the AOP’s influence within and outside the sector to secure a future of the profession that we’re proud of. If your constituency is being contested, now is the time to have your say on the future Councillor representing you.’
