Corporate eye health provider VSP develops online tool for its members

Corporate eye health provider VSP Vision Care has developed a new online screening tool for its members.

The free to members tool, named eScreen, allows employees to conduct vision screening from their workstations to help identify vision correction issues related to computer use and connect them with a VSP eye care professional for an eye exam. It also allows company to comply with the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992.

The company said it had been developed by optometrists and ophthalmologists, and provided a 10-minute evaluation that assessed a range of vision functions, including visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, colour vision, and an Amsler grid test for detection of macular degeneration.

‘eScreen offers employers an innovative way to turn obligation into opportunity,’ said Jeremy Chadwick, managing director, EMEA, of VSP. ‘

‘We spend so much more time in the workplace looking at VDUs than ever before. This tool allows employees to be better engaged with their vision health, increase productivity in the workplace, and helps ensure that they receive a regular vision screening.’
