ironmanThe Optician Ironman Team is looking for support when it competes in the UK Ironman 70.3 triathlon on Exmoor on June 14.

The team would be delighted to see support from any West Country opticians when it takes part in the Wimbleball-based race later this month. If you can't make it to the event there is still time to pledge support for the seven-strong squad made up of optometrists, dispensing opticians and Optician editor Chris Bennett.

The event comprises a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile cycle and a half marathon. This adds up to a gruelling 70.3 miles of effort. All of the money raised by the team will go to VAO and the target the team hopes to hit is £5,000. To make a donation go to www.justgiving.com/opticianironman.
