The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers (WCSM) has introduced a qualification for customer service staff in optical manufacturing or practice.
The Level 2 Certificate in optical customer service will be available from September as a distance learning course and will take some units from the WCSM's existing Level 2 certificate in optical practice support.
In consultation with the FMO the WCSM has tailored the new certificate for staff in customer service roles in spectacle manufacturers or prescription houses.
It is also approved under the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and is aimed at staff in optical practices who are looking for a qualification with a customer service focus.
