An online glasses retailer from the US has pleaded guilty to two counts of sending threatening communications, one of mail fraud and one of wire fraud in a Manhattan court.
Vitaly Borker who ran DecorMyEyes.com from his New York home reportedly threatened customers who complained about products they'd bought from him with rape and murder according to the New York Times.
Borker had stated that his strategy was to cause irate and frightened customers to complain about his site on internet chat boards, which would to elevate its position in Google searches. The mail fraud and wire fraud counts stem from accusations that he was selling imitation eyewear.
