1% inflationary increase for the Eye Health Examination agreed for Wales

Welsh cabinet secretary for health Vaughan Gething has announced a 1% inflationary increase for the Eye Health Examination and Low Vision services within Wales Eye Care Service (Wecs).

The decision was made following negotiations with Optometry Wales.

Chairman Andy Riley said: ‘For the first time in the history of negotiation with the Welsh government, optometry has been brought into line with GPs, pharmacists and dentists in terms of the formula used to consider increases and that reflects the increasing profile of the profession in Wales.’
