West Midlands-based optometrist Amandeep Sandhu has been suspended by the General Optical Council for 12 months.
A Fitness to Practise Committee found Sandhu’s fitness to practise impaired by reason of convictions and misconduct, because he did not declare ongoing, previous or/and convicted criminal investigations he was involved in.
At the hearing, the committee found that ‘he has admitted his conduct and acknowledged it, and he has expressed authentic remorse, and has taken a number of steps to understand and remedy his behaviour.’
Sandhu has until 1 May 2023 to appeal against his suspension.
