WestwoodÕs piercing designs

u Vivienne Westwood has launched two new models in her eyewear collection, each featuring a decorative piercing ring on the eyebrow or temple.

Vivienne Westwood began designing in 1971 and in the first half of her career her clothes were described as a badge of rebellion, much like today\\"s vogue for piercing. The company states that Westwood uses the piercing theme as the inspiration to marry the past with the present.
The sunglasses are based around the aviator shape but are created with an inverted supra frame design, which supports the lenses from below, leaving a clean, unframed lens border across the brow. The new sunglasses, with a left lens pierced by a ring at the wearer\\"s eyebrow level, are named Hampstead. They come in three lens colourations: sky blue, charcoal grey and smoke orange. The lenses are produced from tough, scratch-resistant polycarbonate.
The ophthalmic model, named City, features a more subtle piercing pin on the left temple and is a smaller style, in acetate. The Westwood signature is discretely visible on the left side. This frame comes in three translucent colourations: blue, deep red and black, which all feature an iridescent two-tone sheen to downplay the boldness of the frame.
