Optical group Black & Lizars became the official optometrists to the Scottish Rugby Union this week after signing a three-year deal reported to be worth around &\#163;50,000. Under the terms of the sponsorship agreement, the rugby players will have access to the group's Glasgow-based specialist sports vision clinic, headed by optometrist and group director Peter Ivins. National coach Jim Telfer (centre), pictured with squad members Kenny Logan (left) and Stuart Grimes, welcomed the move, which comes before the start of the World Cup championships at the weekend. 'In world-class sport the slightest edge over the opposition can make the difference between winning and losing,' he said.
