The Bentley, South Yorkshire practice and head office of Parkhurst Opticians has had to be closed down for six months after last week's severe flooding.
The practice, comprising three adjoining properties, was featured on Channel 5 News, Sky and ITN as it was chest high in water for days before being pumped out on Sunday.
Company founder, former ABDO president Alan Parkhurst, whose two sons and daughter are optometrists at the group, estimates the damage and closure could amount to hundreds of thousands of pounds. The nine staff, including administration, are now working across the group.
