Younger Optics releases photochromic driving lensA collaboration between Younger Optics, PPG Industries and Transitions Optical has yielded a new photochromic Rx lens made especially for drivers.

The new Transitions Trilogy DriveWear lenses, now available through prescription labs in the UK and Ireland, was described by Younger Optics as the lightest and strongest photochromic polarised prescription sunglass lens for drivers. They are available in single vision and some digital progressive lens designs, and suitable for 6- and 8-base frames in rimless and supra mounts.

The lenses are activated by both UV and visible light and will fade and darken behind a windscreen. The NuPolar filter was said to block hazardous, debilitating or discomforting glare and improve visual comfort, depth perception and contrast sensitivity for most patients.
