Carl Zeiss Vision has announced it intends to run a number of promotions and events in 2012 to coincide with its 100th anniversary.
In 1912, Zeiss launched the first axially symmetrical spectacle lens with point focal imagery. The Punktal lens used all the knowledge it had accumulated since 1846 and Zeiss said it revolutionised the spectacle lens market at the time.
The company said it continued to be a pioneer in the ophthalmic lens sector with the goal of providing better vision to its customers.
Full details of celebratory events and promotions will be announced in early 2012.
